Mark 6:1-13
Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth. Earlier, when his family went to restrain him because they had heard rumors that he had lost his mind, we had a foreshadowing of Jesus’s rejection in his hometown. Their pre-conceived notions of how he should behave got in his way. Do our pre-conceived notions prevent us from seeing where Jesus truly wants to lead us? This is a question for us to ask ourselves wherever we fall along the political or the liberal/conservative spectrum. Jesus doesn’t fit well into our pre-conceived notions.
