Spirit of Comfort and Power
Acts 2:1-21
Today we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit, poured out on all flesh! The followers of Jesus were gathered together, praying, when there was the sound of a rush of a mighty wind, and tongues of fire were over their heads. They began to speak in other tongues and everyone, gathered in from the far reaches of the Roman Empire, heard these people from Galilee speaking in their own languages.
We also had a video clip and referenced an interview from Radiolab
Thank you to Tomey Shabshab for reading in Arabic, and to Genaro Garcia for reading in Spanish today. Pastor Waite also read in German while the passage from Acts was being read. Thank you to Dorothy Miller for reading all those difficult to pronounce names in the Scripture reading from Acts.
